Staying Hopeful –

  • 1 Corinthians 15:56,57 – The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

  • 1 Peter 1:3 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

 

Anxiety –

  • John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

  • Philippians 4:6-7 - Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, And the peace of God that transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

 

Staying Encouraged –

  • Deuteronomy 31:8 - It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

  • Isaiah 40:30 - but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
    They will soar on wings like eagles;  they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

  • Proverbs 24:14 - Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

 

Being humble (the key to self-control) -

  • 1 Peter 5:6-7 - Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

  • 2 Chonicles 12:6 - The leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The Lord is just.”

  • Galatians 5:13 – You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge in the flesh, rather, serve one another humbly in love.
